Chelsea Football Club has secured the services of England under-21 forward Cole Palmer in a significant transfer move from Manchester City. The 21-year-old has penned a seven-year contract with the Blues, reportedly worth £27.3 million, including add-ons up to £25 million.
Palmer's annual salary at Chelsea will be a hefty £3.9 million. In 2023, he will earn a base salary of £3.9 million, significantly boosting the club's overall wage bill.
The signing of Palmer adds depth to Chelsea's attacking options. The young talent impressed at Manchester City, registering six goals and seven assists in 34 appearances across all competitions last season.
Chelsea are actively strengthening their squad under new manager Graham Potter. The club's annual wage bill for the playing staff currently stands at £150.124 million, which translates to around £2.887 million per week.
